About Emily

Hi, my name is Emily. I am looking to support families with their child care needs. I can start in July or August. I have 20+ years experience in childcare from my own kids, nannying 2 days a week for the past 2 1/2 years, working in an after school program, summer camp, and watching other children. I homeschooled my children for 15 years. I am fun loving, down to earth, but also a mildly no-nonsense kind of person. I like a schedule as a tool, but can be very flexible as well. I like to keep things reasonably tidy, and will clean up, but understand life happens and time spent with kids is more important. I prefer getting outside whenever possible (depending on weather), going for walks, going to parks, and going to the zoo or different museums when possible. I like playing with kids and using regular opportunities to teach them, reading books out loud, singing songs, and sometimes being plain silly. And I love watching kids of all ages learn and be creative!
