About Emma

Teacher in transition with experience teaching 5th, 6th, 8th and now 9th grade English Language Arts specializing in both intensive reading and writing instruction. Students struggling with reading will build confidence in fluency, comprehension and accuracy through phonics, vocabulary and discussion work. Students struggling with writing will first gain confidence in their voice and ability to impact an audience, then experiment with a variety of skills they can use to further their impact. Grammar instruction is made easy and enjoyable through interactive slides, games, and creative assignments. I use data analysis to inform my instructional decisions, assess student progress, and differentiate instruction according to individual needs and abilities. Highly trained in teaching test prep with countless resources for all age levels including ACT, Regents and state tests.
