About Eric

My passion is helping young people grow, learn, and become the best they can be. My journey as a teacher and mentor began in middle school where I became a swimming instructor for the Red Cross in a small town in Ohio. In high school I was a peer tutor. As an undergraduate, I was a teaching assistant. I spent several years as an editor of science textbooks and honing my writing skills. In graduate school, I a graduate instructor and even authored some courses for my graduate program. At the same time, I coached a large US Swimming club, developing young athletes. I spent more than 15 years teaching in higher education. I spent a number of years designing training systems for corporate clients. I then turned to secondary schools, becoming a licensed teacher and spent the next 12 years as a homebound instructor, teaching nearly all courses to students who for medical reasons could not attend school, a major highlight of my career.
