About Erin

I'm an experienced educator with 14+ years of high school teaching experience, and currently I'm an adjunct at Columbia University and a visiting professor at the United Nations University for Peace. I tutor across the humanities and support students from foundational skills to advanced, college-ready work. I'm especially skilled at helping students turn their ideas into clear, compelling writing. My approach is structured, flexible, and student-centered. As a teacher, I start with what interests each student--whether that's pop culture, music, or film--and connect it to the material in ways that build confidence, critical thinking, and real engagement. I believe a love of reading and storytelling is key to long-term success, and I bring that energy into every session. Outside of teaching, I love reading, going to the movies, and playing games with friends, which often shapes how I connect with students and make learning feel relevant and fun.
