I having been taking care of seniors for over 20 years and I genuinely love what I do. I am a certified Home Health Care Aide and Personal Care Assistant. I offer live-in care (but can do live-out as well). I have worked with Alzheimer patients as well as patients with Diabetes, Hypertension, MS, Parkinson, Dementia and Cancer to name but a few. I was also a counselor with the American Cancer Society at the Queens Hospital Center in New York. I am a patient, loving and caring person who enjoy doing what I do. I consider myself extremely competent and capable of performing your outlined tasks. I was with my previous patient for the past 6 years, so I am very familiar with long-term care. This includes, preparing meals for my patient, light housekeeping for my patient, including doing their laundry and generally making sure that their living space is neat and clean. Frances came to care for my mother in May. My mother was independent with most things but needed someone in the house to help with meals and driving and bathing . We liked her the instant she walked the house for her interview . She was warm , friendly , had no trouble with my mother's sarcastic sense of humor. She lived in for four months caring for our mother as her health declined. My mother would much have preferred if I had moved in to care for her but Frances was the next best thing to a daughter and my mom often referred to her as her adopted daughter. Frances was with her on several occasions when she had to be rushed to the hospital - she advocated for my mother and informed the doctors about her needs until I could get there. She gave me and my siblings peace of mind that our mother was in the hands of a capable care giver but also such a kind and genuine person . Frances has medical knowledge she is well trained in her job, but she goes beyond her role and becomes a friend.
