About Gayleen

I have a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work and extensive knowledge of gerontology and aging. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, I worked with the elderly in a community mental health setting. However, my most rewarding experience comes from my many years of volunteering in the elderly community. I volunteered for several years in the activities program of a nursing home where I spent time with the residents socializing games. For the past six years, I have been a home hospice volunteer with Home Health Care where I've enjoyed providing in-home care and companionship for loved ones and respite care for caregivers. From a very young age, I had a passion for the elderly. I grew up surrounded by my great-grandparents, my grandparents and many great aunts and great uncles that were all very much a part of my life. I've always enjoyed hearing other people's life stories and the elderly have so much to share.
