About HEATHER

I'm currently a full-time ELA elementary school teacher for Hillsborough County for 45 second graders at a school with many non English students and even though I only speak English, I have taught almost all of them to read and write proficiently in English and brought them up on average two grade levels preparing them for 3rd grade. I will be teaching all subjects next year for a new group of first graders and am enrolled in ongoing training, certifications and classes and am getting a second certification in business education 6-12 along with my elementary education k-6 certifications. In a large classroom setting, I divide the students into tiers to work with all levels and ensure the top students remain at the top and are always challenged and the students struggling feel that they are learning and build confidence even through whole group instruction and activities.
