I have had the privilege of working with seniors with dementia at two different care facilities, where I gained valuable experience and certifications in CPR, medication passing, CBRF, and blood/foodborne pathogens and a program on redirection training, which has enabled me to better support individuals with dementia. My passion for caregiving was initially sparked by caring for my grandfather on hospice in 2022, where I assisted with daily living activities such as diaper changing, feeding, and medication management. I also cared for my grandmother with dementia, providing reminders and redirections as needed. I have provided respite care for my sister, an adult with special needs, bathing, dressing, feeding, and medication distribution. My previous work experience has also allowed me to refine my skills in working with adults with disabilities, including those with Down syndrome, in a CBRF setting, including overnight shifts..
