About Helene

Hello All! My name is Helene . I am a recent PhD graduate from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania with years of experience teaching and tutoring in various subjects ranging from English reading and composition, social studies, test prep, college admissions, and mathematics. My passion is in tutoring complex skills like research, writing, critical thinking, and logic - those skills that students are not going to master through taking one course or reading one book, but that will carry them through school and college and beyond and help them interact with the world around them in a competent and rewarding way. I find these are the types of skills that are best learned one-on-one, through fostering a strong relationship with a mentor who can mediate these skills for us.
