Experience: 3 yrs
Making each day count for those I care for is my priority. I bring three years of experience to my role as a Certified Nursing Assistant. My college education complements my skills in providing compassionate support. As an end-of-life doula, I'm passionate about helping people have important conversations about their life and their death! Working in hospice for 2 years has given me empathy and compassion for those living with a terminal diagnosis. I am patient, calm, friendly, and approachable. I adapt to changing routines, de-escalate stressful situations, and handle confusion with care. I provide transportation, run errands, assist with medication management, and offer mobility support. I provide regular updates via text or phone call, and always follow the family's preferred communication method. Earning your trust is important to me. I look forward to bringing my skills and compassion to your family.
I used Hollie to help me care for my mother with dementia as I was Mom's only family support in the Twin Cities. Hollie was phenomenal. She is a trained death doula who also got CNA training so she could more fully support her clients physically at the end of their lives. I first hired her to take my mom outside and to some meals and just visit with her as mom was at a higher cognitive level than many others on her memory care wing. Hollie's warm and gentle personality earned the trust of my mom quickly, and they established a warm bond. When my mom fell and ended up with compression fractures in her back and at a rehab center 30 minutes from us all, Hollie kept right on visiting, even with the longer commute. As Mom's mobility declined we made use of Hollie's handicapped accessible van which she used to take Mom to doctor's appointments or rented to us so we could take her to appointments or to our home. When my mom recently had a major stroke while I was out of town, Hollie dropped everything and went to the ER to be with her until she was admitted, and then became part of the team that provided mom with a loving presence until family could arrive. When it was determined that Mom would not make it, Hollie facilitated getting her into Pillars Hospice House which provided a wonderfully supportive atmosphere for Mom's final days. Hollie visited Mom at Pillars and was with us until the end. I highly recommend Hollie. I couldn't have done it without her.
