Hi! My name is Jamie. I love working with children, especially babies and toddlers! Creating close, meaningful connections is very important to me, so working one-on-one with children and their families is a perfect fit. I have been caring for children for 20 years, including 8 years teaching preschool. I'm very responsible, gentle, creative, and extremely attentive to every child I care for. I have a BA in Creative Writing and certifications in Early Childhood Education and teaching yoga. I'm certified in CPR and first aid. I also have experience as a tutor and case manager. I love to nurture the incredible imaginations children have through play, art, reading, music, dance and spending time in nature. Eight years ago, I had the unique opportunity to nanny for premature twin boys for the first nine months of their lives. Jamie has been such a wonderful nanny to our 18-month-old! She was new to town, but figured out all the best toddler spots in Santa Barbara right away. She's endlessly patient with our daughter and extremely safety-conscious while letting our daughter explore (and is active enough to keep up with our little runner!). We felt comfortable with her driving and going on outings right away. Jamie went out of her way to learn how we do things so she could keep everything consistent. She's so helpful and easy to work with (and we know -- we work from home). She would be a wonderful caregiver for babies and kids of all ages!
