Hello! I am a 22-year-old NYC native excited to have recently moved back to the city after graduating from the University of Rochester. I like working with kids because watching and influencing a child's development is one of the most special human experiences. It's so interesting how kids think and problem solve. I have five years of professional childcare experience including being a kindergarten teaching assistant, nanny, sleep away camp counselor, and mostly recently, running the swimming program for Camp Sloane YMCA. As a camp counselor, I cared for children ranging from 8-17 in the sleep away program and as young as 4 in the day camp program. In my spare time, I like to make art. I am a practicing visual artist who specializes in sculpture and printmaking. I love going to museums and art galleries for inspiration. One thing you should know about me is I make an amazing egg sandwich. My friends and family can attest, I can whip up a perfect egg sandwich whenever requested.

I’ve known Janelle for five years, and I’ve had the chance to see firsthand how naturally she connects with children. She works at summer camps, and I’ve met many of the kids she works with. They absolutely adore her. It’s clear how much they trust and enjoy being around her. What stands out to me just as much is the way she talks about them when we’re together. She speaks about each child with genuine care, attention, and thoughtfulness, which really shows how invested she is in their well-being. Janelle is attentive, adaptable, and an excellent problem solver. She reads children very well and often understands what they need without them having to fully explain it. She creates a warm, safe environment and I would wholeheartedly recommend her for any childcare role.
