About Janis

I am certified to teach ESL; my certification is from Simpson University in Redding, California, where I graduated in 2012. After graduating, I left California to return to my hometown in Illinois where I worked for about a year and a half as a Master Tutor of English to adult English learners at my local community college, predominantly with students at the beginner level. Although the beginner students were my primary focus, I was also tasked to tutor the intermediate and advanced students in English literacy. Prior to having graduated from Simpson, I attended Concordia University Chicago where I spent my sophomore year as a paid writing tutor and editor in Concordia University's writing center.
