Since 6th grade (about 6 years ago) I have been helping my peers. I was chosen to be one of 3 peer mentors and would guide my classmates through their work when they were stuck. In middle school I often found myself teaching alongside with my math teacher and helping the students she could not get to. I have now been hired as a peer tutor at my high school for going on three years. I help in various subjects and for every grade. My supervisor has said she is astonished at how well I can describe concepts and help my peers. She once even said she could totally understand what math concepts I was teaching someone just by listening (and not even being able to see the paper). I truly love teaching and I will do my best to make sure anyone I help leaves knowing more than they did before.
