About Jayla

Jayla was wonderful with our girls for six months and was always flexible when we needed occasional date night care. Over the last few weeks, I made a point to communicate regularly to confirm her availability, as we were coordinating important commitments, including medical appointments and a surgery at the beginning of the year, school tours, and an upcoming week of heavy travel for my husband. Much of our planning was based on her continued availability. During the last couple of weeks, she seemed more distracted, and it appeared that she may have already known she would be leaving due to conflicts between her new school schedule and work hours. We completely understand that her education must come first. All we asked for was more advance notice. We treated her well and compensated her fairly. Most concerning was that she left without saying goodbye to our 3 and 4 year old, which I know will be hard for our oldest. While children are resilient, this was still an unfair way for them to experience the transition although I do hope we can set up a way for them to say goodbye. We do wish her the best in her future endeavors.
