About Jeanine

With over 16 years of homeschooling, classroom instruction and tutoring experience in most subjects, I specialize in English (reading, grammar, writing) and as an academic coach teaching Study Skills. I worked for Fairfax County Schools for four years, facilitating and mentoring middle school students who aspire to attend college. Within the AVID program, students were taught study and organizational skills, learning styles and interactive Socratic discussions to solve challenges within their subject areas. My passion is to assist students in the discovery process; I love to see the "lights go on" when they finally "connect the dots" and feel empowered to achieve, to strive further. My vision: that students acquire a thirst for learning, thanks to an invested and engaging approach to education.
