Life has many twists and turns, especially with how we devote our time. I took 4 years off starting in April 2020 to care full time for my mother. She had always lived with us, so it was a natural evolution from marketing in my home office, to shutting down my computer and working to keep my mom with our family as long as possible. My mother succumbed to kidney failure and congestive heart failure on May 1st, 2024. I started working for a couple who both are in need of help. One with advanced alzheimers and another with dementia. I am amazed how much fulfillment and graciousness has infused into me with doing this. I care very much for my clients and bonded quickly. I have a soft demeanor and allow our elders to safely stay in their mental space. When I must, I am firm enough. I never intimidate, yell, or become rude with my clients. I respect them as people who were just as able bodied as myself and deserve respect, with guidance and compassion.
