Hi, my name is Joann, and I am a mom of 2 grown children. I started childcare when I was just a teen and have cared for families' little ones for over 30 years now, both here and abroad. I am well experienced, patient, fun-loving and have a knack for making children feel comfortable and nurtured. Reliable, attentive and conscientious are a good way to describe me. I am both CPR and First Aid certified. I especially love caring for newborns. I can provide bottle cleaning, meal prep, transportation and run errands when necessary. I love to take kids outdoors to play, accompany to music class, visit the library for story time or go to the park or zoo. I am comfortable with pets. I'm a non smoker who likes living a healthy lifestyle, and I would love to care for your child and give him or her a safe and happy experience while away from mom and dad! I am looking for a full time position with a family I can grow with!

We loved our time with Joann! Joann cared for our 4 month old for 2 months while mom transitioned back to work full-time and dad worked from home before her daycare start date.  We knew Joann was the nanny for us during our first interview when she said her goal was to be an extension of us the parents and not change or enforce anything upon us. Our daughter quickly bonded with Joann. We also greatly appreciate Joann’s patience and understanding as we dealt with bottle aversions and winter illnesses. As a first time mom I was nervous to miss out on milestones but Joann did a great job sharing pictures and giving updates. Thank you Joann for being a part of our family! 

Joann has been an absolute joy to work with! She’s very patient and caring to our 11mo daughter and gives her plenty of attention and high quality play time. We especially love that she takes the baby on a little outing each day which greatly exposes the little one to different environments and gives her plenty of mental stimulation. She is terrific at following instructions and makes us feel comfortable that our baby is in good hands when cared by her. 

JoAnn has been with our family since our daughter was 4 months old and is truly a godsend! She is warm, caring, and kind, and super patient with both my daughter she cares for and my 4 yr old daughter who loves to be with her as we are trying to wrangle her to and from school. What sets JoAnn apart from other caretakers is that she is very focused on the development milestones and helping our daughter work towards them, often picking up little nuances that we may have missed. She is thoughtful in how she interacts with both of my girls (which was much appreciated as my older daughter struggled with the little sister transition!) and flexible as we often throw all kinds of surprises at her with our chaotic schedules.  JoAnn has truly become a central part of our family and we feel so fortunate to have found her through Care.com! 

JoAnn took care of our 4 month old boy for 6 months. She was terrific with our little guy and clearly cared for him deeply, and he also loved her. JoAnn has a lot of experience working with children and shared a lot of ideas and recommendations with us.

JoAnn worked with us full-time for over a year, starting when our daughter was around 6 months old. She is great with babies, very passionate about what she does, and offers a lot of advice and guidance. She always kept our daughter very active, taking her to classes and parks often. I believe JoAnn genuinely cares about our kids and loves helping children to develop and grow.

Joann has cared for our daughter who is around 1 year. She's been wonderful. Since hiring Joann for regular care my daughter has blossomed so much. It's evident that when my daughter is in Joann's care she feels loved and cared for. Further, I know they're focusing on development because I observe my daughter's growth every week. Joann is reliable, loving, and patient. I'd recommend her as a caregiver for children of any age.

We interviewed Joann for a full time nanny position and were incredibly impressed. We ultimately went with a caregiver who lived much closer, but Joann was our second choice given her experience, warmth, insight and clear love of children. Would definitely recommend!

We interviewed Joann for a position, but we ended up not needing a full time nanny due to the changing situation with Covid and my maternity leave changing. I would have definitely have hired her otherwise! She was incredibly warm, and I could easily see her being a wonderful and experienced care taker for my baby. By far the most lovely we interviewed.

Joann is very loving and patient. She is great with our 5 month old baby girl. She is very attentive to her needs, entertains and stimulates her, and cares for her like she's her own. She follows our parenting methods but also offers great advice. She truly knows what she's doing when it comes to caring for little ones! We're lucky to have her.

Joann was wonderful w my 2 year old daughter and my daughter absolutely adored her. She is very active- taking her to the park, crafts, music class, cooking, doctor appointments, etc.  She worked hard to instill in my daughter kindness and manners and keeps you well informed along the way.  Joann uses a very hands on approach- teaching, listening and interacting.  She is a very special person.  Your family would be lucky to have her in your life!

JoAnn is a lovely woman and a fantastic babysitter! If you're looking for child care on short notice, JoAnn is perfect. She responds quickly to messages and was very helpful for me in figuring out what exactly we needed for a six hour day of babysitting. I've never used a babysitter before JoAnn, and she really helped me feel comfortable with leaving my son with her. She walked me through the whole process and was reassuring that he would be okay. She's trustworthy, kind, and great with kids. She was excellent with making my son feel very comfortable with her, and she had him laughing and happy under an hour after I left, and he has super stranger anxiety. She is comfortable and competent with giving my child his medicine. She is understanding and respectful of my child and his unique needs. She also was considerate of my needs as a nervous mom and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable by texting me pictures of him during the day and writing down his diaper changes for me. JoAnn is a natural with children and someone I will continue to call for babysitting. I would recommend JoAnn to anyone looking for child care for a child who is nervous around new people because she is able to engage the child so they don't even notice mommy isn't there. JoAnn is the best! What a wonderful woman.
