About Joanne

I have been an instructor for many years, as a Director of Arts and Crafts at a leading residential summer camp in New England (planning, ordering materials, teaching, and hiring other art instructors), then later teaching teens and adult art programs at community centers and privately. I've also taught art to children with learning difficulties. I am often called in to substitute for the art teacher in the elementary schools. I love teaching students of every age. A few years ago, I had an adult student that I met with every week for a few hours, to teach him basic drawing and painting, so that he could prepare a portfolio for entrance into architecture school (he was already a math teacher for several yrs., but desired a career change). I even taught classes (painting) to students ranging in age from 75 to 98).
