About Joanne

I was so blessed to have been given the opportunity at the age of 14 to begin the beautiful journey of love others by providing compassionate care. During the summer going into my freshman year of high school, I cared for twin clients with cerebral palsy. My clients were full assist in all of their ADLs. While caring for my clients, I learned how to properly care for their G-tube sites, feed them via G-tubes, and administer medicine via their G-tube. I would accompany them on weekly outing and volunteered to attend their summer school program with them. After graduating HS, I started to work in a ACH for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In the ACH, I was responsible for providing direct care to my residents. I assist my residents in bathing or showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, eating cooking, cleaning, transportation, and laundry. It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving. -Mother Theresa
