About Joany

Hi, my name is Joany and I'm a recent graduate of Hamilton College in central NY. I grew up in a large Haitian family so I've been babysitting for as long as I can remember. Whenever I got to college, I continued to babysit for professors and administrators alike. I have experience working with kids as young as 6 months all the way up to kids in their early teens. I also studied Genetics and Spanish in college so I'm familiar with providing homework help in science & Spanish language classes, as well as classes outside of those fields. As part of my Genetics major I got the opportunity to study maternal and child health in the U. S., Vietnam, South Africa, and Argentina. Living and learning in such different environments exposed me to children of all ages and backgrounds, and taught me that in the absence of shared language, games are a universal language that can create genuine connection with children all over the world.
