Hello! My name is Joelle and I am a 28-year-old PhD student in Sociology at UCLA. I completed my undergraduate education at UCLA with a double major in History and Sociology, and am now in my 5th year of graduate school. I am currently a teacher at UCLA teaching college students and training to become a professor, so obviously I love love love teaching (you don't dedicate 8 years of your life for poor pay for nothing!!) After college I worked as a professional tutor helping kids ages 7-18 with subjects such as English, Social Studies, Math, and college admission essays. I've worked with kids of all abilities (ADHD, Dyslexia, etc.) and one of the most important things i've learned over the years is to not just help students with one assignment, but to set them up for success in the future by also teaching organizational and life skills.
