About Julie

Hi! I'm a credentialed special educator with experience teaching students ages 3-12 with special needs. I've taught non-verbal kindergartners how to communicate their wants and needs using PECS, I've taught students with autism, developmental delays, and ADHD how to initiate play with peers, name their feelings, and use self-regulation strategies. I've taught the most reluctant, struggling readers how to read and write using explicit, research-based phonics/reading programs. I've taught students with emotional/behavioral disorders how to make it through the school day and keep their feelings and reactions in check. I've also taught students with severe special needs how to do daily living tasks with as much independence as possible. Teaching students with special needs is my passion. I'd love to hear more about the position you need filled. I'm available most Wed., Thurs., and Sat. (in the evenings) through May and daily most of June-July. Looking forward to hearing from you!
