About Kara

I am currently a school-based therapist. I work in an elementary school and work with children KG-5th who have emotional disturbances, behavioral problems, and mental health issues. Before becoming a therapist, I was a skills development specialist at the same agency. I also completed an internship within my agency and worked with adolescents in middle schools and high schools. Previous to my mental health experience, I worked in "before and after care programs" in a private, independent elementary school. I then advanced to become an assistant manager to the summer camp programs at that same school. Previous to that, I also volunteered as a mentor in a reading program with elementary school children. While pursuing my bachelor degree I also volunteered in civic engagement leadership opportunities to lead peers in civic engagement projects. With all of that said, I have a substantial amount of experience working with youth, Kindergarten-college years of age. Ready for a change!
