About Karen

I was a stay at home Mom for my two daughters 7 years until my youngest started school full-time to ensure proper care and training. My girls are now young educated adult women functioning well in this society. Those years I spent with them was well worth it as it really paid off. Years before having my children, I worked as an Activity Worker/Occupational Therapist in a nursing home. Where I was assigned to patients who suffered from Dementia, Parkinson's, Downs Syndrome and other various needs of care. I enjoyed communicating with my patients ensuring they received daily Reality Orientation, companionship, and grooming. I also charted/reported change in behavior and organized care and assistance with patience while ensuring their dignity. If I am granted many more years in life and or find I need assistance, I hope I would find someone like me who genuinely cares.
