I am a semi-retired Registered Dietitian who has always enjoyed caring for children, especially babies and 1-year-olds. I have cared for babies and small children as a job and for family members and friends. I took care of a girl from 1-2 years of age for about 1 year as a regular job. I also took care of another girl from 9 months to 2 years as a regular job. In addition I took care of children from birth to toddler age occasionally for friends and family. In the past 2 1/2 years I have babysat for children from a few weeks old to 4 years old. I also took a Child Development class in college. I believe reading to children is very beneficial. I would describe my personality type as calm, kind and quiet. I do not spend time talking on the phone and would never entertain friends while working. I live in Amagansett year round.

We were so fortunate to have Karen care for our baby every day during our vacation in East Hampton. From the moment she arrived each morning, our little one’s face lit up. She would cheerfully say her name as if greeting a best friend. Karen read to her with such warmth and energy, took her on daily walks, and gave her a mix of comfort and stimulation that made us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear that she not only kept our baby safe but also genuinely connected with her and helped her thrive. We couldn’t have asked for a better babysitter. She’s the reliable, kind, and full of joy. If you’re lucky enough to have her watch your children, you’ll understand why we were so grateful.
