Experience: 10 yrs
I've worked with the elderly in various degrees on/off for over 20 years. I was a CNA from 87-91, then got my Registered Nurse associates degree in 1992. I worked in Med/Surgery at a Level one trauma hospital for 6 years, then on a cardiac unit for 3 years. I left my career to raise a family and returned in 2017 to work as a Home Health Aide/Companion part time private duty home care for a lovely lady in her 90's. I enjoy working with the elderly, helping them achieve their potential and providing them good quality of life. Although I have a Nursing background, I now seek to provide care as a Home Health Aide/Companion.
I can’t say enough about Karen. Karen joined our family when my father in law was in need of care. She was hired in April of 2016 and took wonderful care of my father in law. Not only was the care top notch Karen always went above and beyond making sure dad had meals, clothes were washed and clean and keeping up on the housework. Karen also would make sure that dad made his doctor’s appointments and he was taking the proper medications. From 2016 to 2020 Karen had not only become dads caregiver she became family. We called her our Angel on earth and I know that we couldn’t possibly had anyone better than Karen and the trust we put in her to make sure all of dads needs were met while he was sick. Dad passed away in 2020 and my Sister in law needed care after his passing. There was no hesitation when we asked Karen if she would continue on caring for my sister in law. Karen gave my sister in law all the love and support just as she had done with dad. Karen continued to cook meals, do laundry, made sure the house was tidy and just about anything my sister in law needed Karen was always willing to do what was asked of her. Karen also took my sister in law to her doctors appointments and made sure her medication was ordered and being taken as prescribed. This care continued on for the next 5 years and although my sister in law passed in November of 2025 we are truly grateful for Karen and all the selfless acts she has shown my father and sister in law for all these years. You will not find a better human being to care for your loved ones and I highly recommend Karen if you are needing care for a family member.
