About Karen

I have 9 years of experience. Before that, I helped care for my mother for 9 years. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In my 30's I was working toward a Ph. D in Cultural Anthropology when I had to quit for personal reasons. So I feel equipped to care for people of any race, creed, education and income level. I love working one on one with my clients. I am very creative with activities adjusted to their special needs and desires. We have a lot of fun together. I was with my last client for five years. I started when she was in the early stages of dementia, and I saw her through till her need for a memory care facility. At each stage, I was able to find things to do with her that used her mind and kept her from being bored. I also did light housekeeping, cooking, and helped care for her dog.
