About Karla

With over 15 years of international teaching experience across early childhood, middle, and high school levels, I specialize in personalized, student-centered education that builds confidence and academic success. I have taught in the U. S., Honduras, Nicaragua, and Spain, and currently work as a middle school English Language Arts teacher at Beta Academy in Houston, Texas. My expertise spans reading comprehension, writing skills, ESL instruction, and critical thinking, with a strong foundation in both traditional and bilingual education. I hold a Master's degree in Bilingual Education and a Bachelor's in Psychology, which informs my approach to supporting diverse learning needs, including students with language barriers or those requiring alternative learning strategies. My tutoring approach is tailored to each learner, utilizing interactive lessons, project-based learning, and ongoing formative assessments to track progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
