About Kate

As a tutor, I support students in discovering their unique potential through personalized support that emphasizes critical thinking. I work particularly well with students struggling with physical or mental illness, as I grew up navigating these challenges myself. In addition, I have experience with children with disabilities and special education. Education is meant to be productive, so I prioritize connections between generic academic material and a student's interests to ensure student interest. I prioritize communication to allow both students and their guardians to impact a student's learning path. Watching a student realize that their potential lies within their critical thinking, self-confidence, and tenacity is the most powerful moment as a tutor. I am comfortable tutoring at various locations and can assist with all subjects, particularly English and history within higher grades. I am a sophomore at Montclair State University and hold CPR and First Aid certification.
