About Kate

For nearly two decades, I've had the privilege of guiding students toward academic success. My graduate-level education provides me with a strong foundation to help you. I focus on building confidence and fostering a love for learning with a special focus on writing and reading (my grad degrees are in English and creative writing). I aim to create an engaging, supportive, and patient learning environment. I assess each student's individual learning style through active listening and observation. I vary my teaching strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, and discussions. I love connecting ideas in our reading to real-world examples and my students' interests and to seeing their skills build over time. I am also a mom and love working with children of all ages, as well as teens and adults. I have a car and am comfortable with pets. I would love to help you achieve your academic goals.
