About Katherina

I've worked as a math tutor, math aid, and most recently- a math interventionist for elementary and middle school students. I start with a basic assessment to figure out a students strong and weak points, and target any gaps in their thinking and understanding. My goal is to help students gain number flexibility and reasoning. By ensuring their foundation is strong, math as a subject becomes easier. I use the CRA method- concrete (hands-on learning with physical objects) representational (visual aids), abstract (solving problems using numbers and symbols) to build a strong understanding. I tailor my lessons and activities to the individual student, and create engaging activities.
