About Katherine

Hello! My name is Katherine and I've spent three years caring for children, ranging in ages 2-7. I've spent five years as an ELA teacher for middle and high school. I occasionally jumped in to teach Social Studies and ELA to fifth and sixth grade students, as well as Spanish for grades 6-8. I have always treated children with mutual respect in order to foster a genuine rapport. During my time with children, I understand how important it is to keep their minds engaged and occupied. As part of my teaching experience, I also tutored students and facilitated book clubs. In addition to the above, I also graduated from culinary school and spent three years cooking in restaurants, including Michelin starred restaurant Avoce. While I no longer work in restaurants, cooking is still something I love to do. Past work experience also includes: Administrative work at the NYC Dept. of Health & Mental Hygiene Personal assistant for tax lawyer & accountant Care companion for elderly patients
