About Katherine

Inventive, engaged, and approachable, I like tutoring because it allows me to continue exploring ideas and feel a sense of connectedness. I come to the task with a decade of experience working with young people exploring literature, essays, and empowered self-expression. I started tutoring when I supplemented our curriculum for our daughter in Paris during a sabbatical year. We blended a little bit of French public school education with our own curriculum. I can develop a curriculum that is tailored to your child as well as be available to help support them through standard school assignments. My skills include: supporting students through the academic writing process; focused reading comprehension support--whether through reviewing components of fiction or other literary forms or note taking strategies; and, helping with study habits/tailored systems that we co-develop for them to better manage their workload.
