About Katherine

Welcome, call me Katie! I am entering my third year as a fifth-grade ELA teacher at Merry Oaks Elementary. I'm a Charlotte local, recently married, and a UNC Charlotte graduate with a masters in English Literature. In addition to teaching Elementary School, I was also a graduate teaching assistant at UNCC and was fortunate enough to design and teach my own course on children's literature for two semesters. Additionally, I worked in the university writing center for a year and have in-person and virtual experience teaching higher level writing skills in multiple disciplines and writing styles. I'm trustworthy (CMS approved!), easy to reach, flexible, and I love helping others hone in their academic skills and reach their full potential.
