About Kathleen

Hi! I'm Kathleen. (English and Cantonese Speaker) I'm currently in contract with AmeriCorps in DC for my service year! I'm serving with a nonprofit in Anacostia focused on building capacity and uplifting our local communities out of poverty. During this next year I'm working on applying to PhD programs and the Scholar Program to further my capacity to serving American interests abroad. I have an innate sense of love for people and animals and have been lucky enough to have worked as a preschool teacher during the last year of my master's at the University of Florida. As well as fostering dogs throughout all 4 years of university. I've joined Care. com during my AmeriCorps year to be able to experience the DC culture more by communicating and aiding my community through direct service (like dog sitting and babysitting). Also to supplement a volunteer salary! I'm so excited about the opportunity to meet and serve you, and your family.
