Experience: 14 yrs
I have been helping seniors stay in their homes for 14 years. I consider this a calling more than a job. I particularly like to help spouses and children of Hospice Care patients. In addition to working in homes, I am familiar with many of the retirement facilites in Lincoln.
It is a privilege to recommend Kathy E., who provided in-home care for both of my parents during the final years of their lives. Kathy cared for my mother for three years and my father for two, and in that time, she consistently demonstrated exceptional integrity, professionalism, and reliability. From our very first meeting in June 2022, it was clear that Kathy viewed elder care not just as a job, but as a calling. She approached her role with quiet dedication and a strong moral compass. One of the things that stood out most was her integrity—if there was truly nothing that needed to be done during a scheduled shift, she would choose to leave and not charge us for the time. That level of integrity is rare, and it speaks volumes about her character. And beyond all the tasks that needed to be done, Kathy deeply understood this phase of my parents’ lives bringing comfort, peace and a relief from loneliness. Kathy always looked for ways to make my parents life more enjoyable and worthwhile – from making a favorite meal, finding a good movie, or intently listening. Kathy managed complex and evolving care needs with confidence and steadiness. She was always attentive and respectful while navigating delicate situations with discretion. Ultimately, beyond her competence, what truly made Kathy invaluable was the stability and trust she brought into our home. She showed up fully, without fanfare, and created a sense of calm even on the hardest days. My parents trusted and respected her completely, and I did too. Kathy works with strength, exceptional judgment, and a deep respect for the individuals she serves. Any family would be fortunate to have her as part of their care team. —Lori T.
