About Kathleen

For the past 13 years, I've been helping students unlock their potential through teaching and personalized tutoring. With a graduate degree and certifications special education, history, science, digital literacy, and computer science, and working with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and student accommodation plans (504), I tailor my approach to each student's unique learning style. I listen and observe, and then adapt my teaching methods to include visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems. I believe that building confidence and fostering a love for learning are essential. I keep students motivated by connecting challenging topics to real-world examples, celebrating successes, and breaking down complex problems. Open communication is key to a successful tutoring relationship. The most rewarding part of tutoring is seeing a student's confidence soar as they master new skills.
