About Kathryn

I was a public school teacher for 14 years teaching kindergarten through 6th grade, primarily focusing on reading and literacy but I've taught a bit of everything through the years. I have experience with special education and various strategies to make learning fun. I am familiar with Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) for English learners, IEPs, 504 plans, and can help your family navigate the public school system. My years teaching gave me the ability to evaluate and track student progress as well as designing and implementing a personalized learning plan based on your child's goals and interests. I feel most confident teaching any subject for kindergartners through fifth graders or English Language Arts, study skills, and homework help in any subject for grades 6-12 and teaching English to adults. I'd describe my personality as authentic and empathetic. I believe in learning through discovery and helping students gain the skills to succeed without me.
