I may not have professional elder-care experience on paper yet, but for the last 10 years I've been the person everyone in my family calls when my grandfather or dad needs helps. I've been the one cooking soft meals for my diabetic dad when her sugar dropped, sitting with my grandfather through his lonely days, changing beds and giving bed baths needed and learning to just listen because I refused to let them feel alone. I've done it all out of love, not for a paycheck. But in today's economy I cant afford to do it without a paycheck anymore. Especially with little ones who depend on me .
