I began caring for children around the age of 12, working as a babysitter for my neighbors' and family friends. I enjoyed caring and being around children, so as I got older I began to look for jobs involving this type of work. For the past two summers, I have worked at daycare centers in the metro area. Through these experiences, I was able to work with a variety of age groups. As a babysitter, I worked with children from ages 2-10. Then as a daycare worker, I focused my care on children ages 1-4. The basic tasks for these positions included potty training and diaper changing, providing meals/bottles, facilitating naptime, and keeping the children on a consistent schedule. Additionally, I taught children basic concepts such as the alphabet, numbers, letters, etc. I also have spoken Spanish or helped children learn Spanish, since I have been studying the language for over eight years. Through these experiences, I have become confident in my ability to care for children.
