About Katie

I'm very passionate about getting to know kids and empowering them to be their unique selves. I worked for 19 months as a behavior technician with autistic children. Before that I worked at a neurodivergent high school. I also have camp counselor and babysitting experience. I'm first aid and CPR certified, enabling me to provide a safe environment for kids. I'm known for being very patient and my approach is usually very playful. I'm quite artsy and I love engaging kids in arts and crafts. I enjoy facilitating both outdoor games and board games. Most of all I love when kids show me what they are excited about. I believe in keeping parents regularly updated on their child's day via the parents' preferred mode of communication. I'm also very comfortable enforcing household rules to ensure a structured environment. Being firm without being punitive is something I've been really honing at my current job.
