About Katie

I started working with kids when I was 12 years old for my family's next door neighbors children. I have nannied/raised children ever since! In high school/college, I nannied for a family that had a parent deployed, I moved into a role beyond nanny as the second parental figure in the children's lives. I provided carpooling, homework help, dinner prep, and cleaning. After college, I taught ESL in a low income community that taught me a lot about the needs of many types of children. I provided trust and security without being able to speak the students' native language. I then moved to NC, and decided to become a nanny while I got to know the school system better. I nannied for two doctors that had high demand jobs with uncertain schedules. I provided care for their children, carpool, taking care of newborn, and cooking/cleaning. I now have two boys of my own that are now 4 and 8. One with ASD, ADHD, and APD. I have a lot of experience caring with children with disabilities.
