About Kelly

I am an Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Tutor. I have completed my reading science certificate from Mt. St. Joseph University and am LETRS trained. I have been tutoring since July of 2021. Ideally I would like to be a nanny tutor helping a preschool or pre-K child with the necessary skills to be a proficient reader. I have a daughter in high school and a son in middle school so my days are open. I'd describe my personality as calm, kind, warm. I like tutoring because it gives me a chance to meet a child where they are and give them the tools to move forward. I'm looking for a job that would be allow me to work during the regular school day, 8-3, so I can be present for my own kids, while giving back to others. I started tutoring in July 2021. My skills include phonological and phonemic awareness, which are the bases for reading. The alphabetic principle, that letters make sounds that create words, and vocabulary building through read alouds and story telling.
