My kids and I used to volunteer at a nursing home and visit an elderly lady named Opal. I also coordinated a Christmas event at the nursing home three years in a row where we did Christmas caroling and created cards for the Seniors there and visited with them. I think there is so much we can learn from the older generation. I love working with the elderly because so many of them are lonely and need assistance. My favorite group of people at the gym we attend are a group of older ladies that take swim lessons together and then visit over coffee in the lobby. I am away from my grandmother, so I'd love to be able to spend time with someone similar to her.
