With a wealth of nursing experience, I bring compassionate care and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of your loved ones. Trust is at the core of my approach, built on a foundation of reliability and expertise. I prioritize not just health but also genuine, personalized attention to meet your family unique needs. I'd describe my personality as genuine, compassionate, and family oriented. Personally I like senior care because it allows me to contribute to their well-being, celebrate their life experiences, and create meaningful connections built on empathy and respect. I started caring for seniors during high school where I actively volunteered at an assisted living facility in my community. In my spare time, I like to study to further my education in the nursing field. I also enjoy running, bike rides, and puzzles. One thing you should know about me is that I approach care taking with a genuine commitment to personalized, compassionate care.
We hired Kira to work with my 87 year old father who is bed bound in July and she continued to work with us two days a week through early August. Kira was very pleasant and kind both to my dad and my elderly mother. Her care was good overall, but she often rushed through tasks and sometimes forgot to do things such as make up the bed properly or brush my dad’s teeth at night. When we first met Kira, she mentioned that her mother Gail was also a caregiver and could cover for her in an emergency. For the whole time that Kira worked with us, Gail came in with Kira for 45 minutes or so in the mornings to help Kira get my dad bathed and dressed. It was an imposition to have an extra person to supervise, but in our view, Gail having that interaction with my dad was worthwhile in the event that Gail had to step in for Kira. One day, Kira came to work sick and coughing. She told me that she tested herself and had no fever, that it was just a cold she caught from sleeping with wet hair. A few days later my dad started coughing and Gail immediately suggested we test him for Covid which surprised us since no one else around my dad was in any way sick, so we assumed he was just experiencing allergies. The next day, my dad was hospitalized with Covid and my 86 year old mother caught it as well. We felt that Kira was a nice person and a generally good caregiver, but put my parents at risk for coming to work sick, especially if she had an idea that she may have been exposed to Covid.
