I'm about to become available for up to 5 days per week, several hours per day. Available for holiday coverage as well. Currently, I care for an amputee learning to walk with a prosthesis who also has a wound vac unit. Previous clients: 94-year-old living in her own home, and an Alzheimer's client in assisted living. Over the past four years, I was entrusted to care for an 89-year-old woman with Alzheimer's Dementia, a 96-year-old man who was severely arthritic, and a 90-year-old man with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson's symptoms. Duties included stimulating activities, companionship, navigating tech, assistance with toileting, showering, dressing, walking, PT, meds, and meal prep. Collaborated with family and physicians on care. Prior clients: Alzheimer's, multi-infarct dementia, stroke, and cancer. As a former chiropractor, I am knowledgeable regarding conditions, warning signs, PT/OT, meds, etc. I am gentle, caring, an animal lover, non-smoker, trustworthy. References.
Laurie took care of my father in law after his second stroke for approximately the last 6 months. She was caring and responsive - adapting to the days needs. She helped him get ready for the day, made and cleaned up meals, and took him through his PT homework. She was able to adjust depending on how he was doing on any given day. More than anything she served as a wonderful companion, engaging with him on a variety of topics of conversation, helping him recover, and maintain a safe environment.
