About Lavender

Hi! I'm Lavender, and I've been tutoring professionally for over a decade in the subjects of reading and writing (elementary to graduate level, including dissertation review and revisions), English as a Second Language (ESL), SAT/ACT/GRE prep, and math (elementary mathematics through Calculus). I have worked with students ranging in age from 3 years old to adulthood. I specialize in and am particularly passionate about working with neurodivergent students and students struggling with education-related anxiety. I have experience working with students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and anxiety, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge of figuring out each student's ideal learning style in order to meet their mental and emotional needs during our sessions. I feel strongly that success in education isn't just about sharing information, but about creating an environment where students feel safe and supported enough to confidently engage with and apply the material.
