About Layne

I am a high school math teacher who is looking to add some tutoring in the evenings or afternoons. Can help with nearly all levels of math from middle school to pre calculus and some calculus as well. I'd describe my personality as fun, caring, and invested. I like tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to hone skills of my profession as well as learn new skills from students. In looking for regular weekly jobs. In my spare time, I like to play hockey, read, workout, and play with my kids One thing you should know about me is that I enjoy teaching because it is so fulfilling to watch a student grow. I struggled in high school feeling like I had little support so I am very invested in giving that to students. My skills include breaking down large concepts into digestible pieces for students to learn and use. Being patient with students who feel they are falling behind, and I am also a tutor who truly believes that my students will be successful if they give their full effort.
