About Lillian

Personal experience: For about six months last year as I was finishing undergrad, I provided live-in care for my grandmother who was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. I helped with errands (groceries, picking up medications), pet care (walking, feeding, trips to vet), transportation, household cleaning, and meal prep. As her health declined significantly, she needed a lot of assistance with mobility, bathing, and using the bathroom. Most of all, I was a loving and caring companion. I gained an understanding of the complex emotions that accompany losing independence, cognitively and/or physically, and the need to feel safe, heard, and not alone. Educational experience: I am a Masters student of Medical-Speech Language Pathology and have had a lot of coursework in the areas of gerontology, memory/cognition, as well as lengthy observations in rehabilitation centers (stroke, TBI) and skilled nursing facilities.
